2013 hair challenge (January/August)
Current hair state:
- Length- Front 11in, Back 9in, Middle 9in
- Thickness-Very thick but with layers. Hair needs to be evened up to see full thickness
- Shedding/breakage-Hair sheds a lot and breaks a lot needs moisture and/or protein
- Ends/clipping-An inch will be clipped off after length check or close to new year then will be remeasured
Regimen:
- Keep hair braided for 3/4 weeks at a time
- Shampoo hair while in braids every 2 weeks if keeping braids in for 4 weeks
- Blow dry hair after I shampoo and condition hair
- Clips ends when knots and split ends are visible
- Gradually even hair up all over by clipping longest hair
- Finger detangle hair before washing
- Wash hair in sections shampoo whole head then condition
- Length check every 2 months
- Protein treatment when needed
- Wear scarfs and bonnet every night to bed
- Put moisturizer and oil on ends of braids NO oil on scalp ((As needed))
- Wear hair out 2 days at a time
- Apple cider vinegar rinse and cleansing shampoo will be used
- Alternate using moisturizing and protein conditioner
- Scratch scalp with small tooth comb before washing
Goal:
- Retain healthy hair
- Hair length at BSL or APL
- Have hair even with no layers
- Least amount of shedding/breakage
- Learn what my hair likes/needs
- Thicker edges

ReplyDeleteWhen I first started it was really hard the first year now it is a piece of cake. I love natural hair it helps you get to know who you really are w/o adjectives.
ReplyDeleteRight for me it was hard the first year!! Now that its longer its a whole different level lol it gets tangled faster!! It helps you to know yourself better!!
